One of the first snuffboxes made to commemorate the death of Emperor Napoleon on St. Helena in 1821. Horn pressed. This snuffbox in the shape of Napoleon's hat is made much stronger, more compact and more robust than the later snuffboxes of this type. The embossed image on the back of the box with a picture of Napoleon on the island and the date of his death is also very rare. France between 1821-1830. This snuffbox is in very good, unused condition and closes tightly. Deko not for sale!
